Birthday in Copenhagen, Denmark!

Updated: Jun 11, 2019

Hello Sunshines!

For my 26th birthday, Anton took me to Copenhagen! His family's summerhouse in Ahus, Sweden is a short train ride away from Copenhagen, Denmark. I was excited to ride a train because I never need to ride one her in the South. We hopped on the train in the morning, and about two hours later we were in the colorful city of Copenhagen!

I somehow packed everything for our 24 hour trip in one small bag. This is huge for me since I'm notorious for overpacking.....We walked through the city with our bags then reached our hotel to check in early. Next, we stopped to eat lunch then moved onto a boat tour of the city! Copenhagen is a city filled with water and canals. The boat tour was such a great way to see the city! We were able to see the Little Mermaid statue and several other historic attractions. I really love history. It was always a favorite subject of mine....I could have minored in it because of how many courses I took in college.

After our boat tour, we went back to our hotel to rest before dinner. Our hotel was in a great location because we could see the water from our room and it was walking distance to Nyhaven Canal, which is probably the most famous part of Copenhagen. Nyhaven Canal is filled with colorful buildings, water side restaurants, tourists, boat tours, etc.

We ate dinner at an Italian restaurant as we watched the sun set and listened to a local violinist. Basically …. it was PERFECT. The food was mouth watering and the ambiance was extremely romantic. We grabbed a drink at a close by lounge then went to back to our hotel.

The following day we ate breakfast in bed before Anton's parents, sister and her boyfriend met us for the day. We spent the rest of the day eating, wandering and spending time with one another. Copenhagen has flower stands, restaurants and cafes, food/street markets, etc. So much to see. I could have easily spent several days there. I found this dessert of churros and ice cream, and I had to get one of my own! The people were extremely friendly and welcoming, and I can't wait to go back! One of the best birthday presents I've received! Thanks to babe :)

XOXO, Britt
