Our Wedding Pictures & Vendors

Updated: Nov 20, 2019

Hello Sunshines!

I can't believe after almost a year and half of planning, our wedding has come and gone! People aren't lying when they say the day goes by so fast. Anton and I wish we could have stopped time and relive the day all over again. Here are SOME of our amazing wedding photos from the talented Ashlyn Cathey Photography! I will list our vendors at the end as well! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask away! 9.28.19 will be my most favorite day!

Getting Ready

My girls and I began getting ready around 8:30 AM. We enjoyed some light snacks throughout the morning & day. My venue has a bridal suite room. The boys were in a Airbnb down the road. Our venue has a room for the boys to hang out & get ready in, but we wanted them to have a bigger space.

The Details

My "something old" was Papa's handkerchief; My "something new" was my wedding dress; My "something borrowed" was my veil, which was my cousin's; and My "something blue" was my monogram and nickname (babydoll) stitched on the handkerchief. Our floral and décor designer surpassed every expectation, and made my Pinterest board come to life.

Bridal Party

The main reason I chose an inside wedding venue was the simple fact you cannot control weather, and especially in the South, weather is very unpredictable. On our wedding day the high was 99F...thank goodness we only needed to be outside for a few minutes for pictures, and my girls looked STUNNING! Huge thank you to our makeup artist and hair dressers!

Groomsmen

The bride and bridesmaids usually get a lot of attention, but my hubby and his boys were looking GOOD! Mens Wearhouse did a fabulous job with making sure all the suits were correct and comfortable.

First Look

Anton and I decided not to have a first look. We were able to take plenty of pictures after our reception. My father and my brothers have always been a huge influence and part of my life, and I am so glad I included them all in my first look.

Ceremony

Surrounded by family and friends, we vowed our love for each other and promised in our faith to walk life together till death. We chose to use the traditional vows along a unity candle ceremony. Our altar was our church's cross, which made our ceremony even more special. Anton and I chose to honor our late grandparents with a seat saved in their memory. I always wanted live music used in every part of my wedding, and the violinists were the cherry on top of our ceremony.

Wedding Party

I love the colors we chose for our wedding! The burgundy, blue and blush complimented each other so well.

Newlyweds

People's number one response to us when we shared not having a first look was "You're not going to have enough time for pictures". Well...we had plenty of time for pictures while our guests enjoyed cocktail hour :)

Reception

We had a blast dancing the night away at our reception! I wanted a live band to play at my wedding, and Tasteful Tea was phenomenal! After eating our delicious dinner and cutting our cake, we spent the rest of the night grooving to oldies and new music. We did not have a traditional groom's cake. Instead, we incorporated a Swedish tradition called fika. I have a blog describing the definition and purpose of fika!

Fun Facts & Tips:

I did not have a wedding planner throughout the planning process. My mother and I planned it all!

I did hire a day off coordinator, and I would 100% recommend it.

I get horrible nausea when I'm excited and anxious. I had gin gin drops and sprite with me leading up to the ceremony. My sweet father popped on more drop in my mouth minutes before walking down the aisle. Once the doors opened though, my stomach settled for the rest of the night.

Only regret I have is...not eating a single donut!

Our wedding included a cocktail hour (fruit, cheese and nut display; tortellini chicken skewers, shrimp cocktails, small sandwiches & champagne).

Our wedding menu was buffet style which included some of the following: baked chicken, pork tenderloin, mashed potato bar, pasta station, salad and several dips.

We were on time for EVERYTHING! I thank my day of coordinator and my photographer for being so time efficient.

I was asked if I wanted to do a "fake exit" to have more people in the shot, but I declined. To me if people can't spend 5 hours to celebrate your wedding then that's on them. We were surrounded by plenty of family and friends until we exited the reception. Don't ever feel you need to accommodate for your wedding if it's truly not what you want.

XOXO, Britt
